Dates Rolls


Dates may be considered as an almost ideal food which helps with Vision, Digestion, Nervous System, Heart, and many other things. They have a good fiber content which also has lots of health benefits. Dates are high in potassium. It has 2.5 times the amount of potassium in bananas. Dates can protect against the buildup of Cholesterol and dates contain no sodium

For below recipe, I have used regular seedless dates

Preparation Time — 10 minutes

Cooking Time — 10 minutes

Types of Cuisine — Sweets / Dessert

Level of Cooking — Easy

Ingredients – 

  • Dates seedless — 2 1/2 cup
  • Walnut  — 1/4 cup chopped
  • Pista — 1/4  cup chopped
  • Cashew — 1/4 cup chopped
  • Almond Powder — 1/2 cup ( if you don’t like powder then you can use 1/4 cup chopped Almond )
  • Ghee — 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom Powder — 1/8 tsp
  • Honey — 2 tbsp
  • Rose water — few drops

Method of cooking – 

  • Chop all the dry fruits and keep aside
  • Use the pitted dated or take the seeds out and grind the dates coarsely

  • Heat ghee in a pan, once hot – add all chopped dry fruits saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add the ground dates to the dry fruit mixture
  • Sprinkle some cardamom powder and add honey
  • Give it a good mix (It might be hard to mix but when the mixture gets hot it becomes pulpy and much easier to mix).
  • When the mixture leaving side of pan switch off the gas and add few drops of rose water and mix well leave it for few minute

  • When the mixture cools down a little and is at a stage where it can be handled-knead it well and make a log shape as shown in the picture below
  • Roll in aluminum foil or Plastic sheet and keep Refrigerate for 2 hours

  • After 2 to 3 hours in refrigerator remove the roll and cut into round slices

  • Keep the date roll in Air tight container and the stay fresh and good for 1 week
  • Enjoy and leave your feedback
