Thandai Masala Powder

Thandai is an Indian cold drink which is prepared with chilled milk as a base and is flavored with a lot of nuts and spices. The Thandai powder can be used to prepare Thandai Drink, Thandai Flavoured Icecream etc

Types of Cuisine – Regional


  • Almond – 1/2 cup
  • Cashew – 1/2 cup
  • Pista – 1/4 cup
  • Black pepper – 25 – 30
  • Saffron – few Threads
  • Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds – 2 tbsp
  • Melon seeds – 2 tbsp
  • Dry Rose petal – 2 tbsp

Method of Preparation-

  • Add all the ingredients in the grinder and make a smooth dry powder (While grinding take precautions to grind it for 10/15 seconds at one time and let it cool before grinding further.

  • This will make sure the nuts do not ooze out oil and the mixture stays dry)
  • With the help of sieve strain to get a smooth powder leaving the bigger chunks.
  • Store in an airtight container for 10 to 15 days and using this powder to make so many different types of recipes like Thandai Drink, Icecream etc.
